Born and bred in Narrabeen, Ellen grew up at one of the most competitive surfing beaches in the world. She became inspired to surf after watching and learning from some of the best surfers in the world such as, World Champion Damien Hardman, Simon Anderson, Nathan Hedge and Chris Davidson.

She started surfing at the age of 13 and quickly gained respect in the unforgiving Narrabeen line-up. Ellen is hungry for success and has the determination and commitment to reach the top.

Ellen possesses a style that is fast and powerful. Her technique is exceptional and she consistently pushes her surfing to the limits through radical manoeuvres. She is committed to peak physical and mental condition through a grueling training regime. Ellen has a great personality, strength of character and spunk.

In 2002, Ellen obtained a year-end rating of 42 on the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) and acquired her first taste of international competition. This was an exceptional result considering she only competed in four events.

In 2003, she plans to travel to South Africa, California, England, France and Hawaii to qualify for the 2004 ASP World Championship Tour.
