Beau Mitchell – Biography

Beau Mitchell is one of the most motivated and dedicated professional surfers competing in the World Qualifying Series (WQS).

Growing up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches placed Beau in one of the world’s most competitive surfing areas – it proved to be an environment that he thrived in.

As soon as Beau started surfing at 11, his desire to reach the top became his sole aim. He would be up at 5am every morning to do his paper run, then race to the beach for a surf before heading to school.

Beau is a tough competitor with a fast and powerful style beyond his years. He refuses to hold back and charges in big waves with the commitment and stature of Tom Carroll.

Beau had a very successful junior career consistently placing in finals including wins at the Quiksilver Junior Airshow (Western Australia), Cottesloe Beach ACC (Australian Championship Circuit) and Bundy Rum Pro Junior. In 2002 Beau embarked on the WQS and International Junior Circuit with wins at the GPB Biarritz Pro Junior (France) and semi-finals at the US Open.

In 2003 Beau makes his debut in the opens category. His competitive nature motivates him more than most and with Barton Lynch, 1988 World Champion, as his coach and mentor he is aiming for the top.

You will be sure to hear more of Beau Mitchell as he charges his way on the ASP World Tour.
